Music in Schools

We have been waiting for over a year to be able to run our pilot event for Music in Schools but last Monday we were finally able to visit Our Lady’s RC primary school Whalley Range, and what a LOVELY way to emerge from our enforced hibernation! For cellist Claire Babington, harpsichordist David Francis and I (on violin), this was the first time we had played our instruments together in ‘real life’ and to a live audience in over a year. And we could not have chosen a more welcoming, enthusiastic and joyful audience.

Our workshop – Musical Emojis – was aimed at KS2 children and we had the pleasure of meeting the children of Yr 4 and Yr 5. We were blown away by their imagination, engagement and the quality and scope of their questions. What a treat all round! Thanks to everyone at Our Lady’s for having us. And a huge thanks to the Ragdoll Foundation without whose support we would not have been able to run this pilot. Our next step will be to source funding to allow us to roll the programme out in full over the next three years. If you are interested in donating to this programme or any of our other activities, you can do so via the buttons above and below.
