Digital Come and Play! New videos.

Here at Baroque In The North we have been trying to keep busy during the last year, working out how we can improve on the delivery of our activities and knowledge exchange amidst these changing times. We really missed making and sharing live music with our audiences, but we have also delighted in channelling our creativity into diversifying what we offer.

We were hoping to roll out regular Come and Play! days after the success of our pilot in early 2019 but of course the pandemic brought a halt to all such events. BUT thanks to the Wakeham Trust we were able to put together a digital Come and Play! package to inspire you to keep practising. AND we are already planning our future Come and Play! days, hopefully adding harpsichord and wind tutors.

And so we are excited to release these three short videos, designed as mini masterclasses in Baroque Violin, Baroque Cello, and Harpsichord. With these videos we are also celebrating the launch of our YouTube channel (woohoo!). These videos are not intended to replace our physical Come and Play! days (don’t worry, we are planning more of those!). But they are snapshots of the sort of thing that we offer at our Come and Play! days. They are also designed to inspire you to continue your learning – which can sometimes be difficult to do after such a long period of isolation! – perhaps in preparation for our next physical Come and Play! day.

If you would like to be the first to hear of forthcoming Come and Play! days as well as our other events and opportunities then please sign up here. We are really looking forward to once again making and sharing live music with you all!

Thanks to the Wakeham Trust for their support for this project
